Grown-Up Training
What an adults-only martial arts gym actually means.
Most martial arts schools are built around children, with an adult class bolted onto the evening. KDL Combatives is the other way round. There is no kids' program at all. The whole gym is one adult class, four sessions a week, and everything about it, from the pace to the way partners look after each other, is set by people with jobs in the morning.
What we teach is grappling: Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu on the ground, Judo on the feet, and self-defense that connects the two to real life. It is taught by black belts and tested live, so you know what works. No forms, no striking pads, no contracts on the first night. Your first class is free, and it is the fastest way to find out if this is your kind of room.

What grown-ups ask before they start.
Is KDL Combatives adults only?
Yes. One adult program, men and women, and no kids' class. Everyone in the room has a job, a commute and a reason to be there, and the pace and the humour reflect that.
What martial arts do you teach?
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Judo and practical self-defense, together in the same class. No striking arts, no forms, no board breaking. Grappling that is tested live every session.
I'm not looking to fight. Is this still for me?
Most people here are not. They come for fitness that has a point, confidence that comes from real skill, and a room full of decent people. The fighting part is insurance you hope never to use.
How is this different from a kickboxing or fitness class?
You learn a skill that compounds. A year in, you can do things you could not do before, against a resisting person, and that keeps people coming back long after a fitness class gets boring. It is also a hard workout, which is a side effect rather than the goal.
